Tell Me What You Did by Carter Wilson

Tell Me What You Did is a fast-paced, blow your mind, amazing psychological thriller. The tentacles of this imaginative eerie plot reach back in time for the main character as well as the mysterious villain, with shocking confessions, horror and terror which is induced as the basis of the story.

Poe Webb has a famous true crime podcast where she invites people on and allows them to tell her what they have done and confess to anything. Having her own mother murdered at their home right in front of her eyes as a child has been the impetus of her life. Her podcast rule is she will allow them a certain number of minutes and will not interrupt them at all. Needless to say, the podcast is very entertaining and very popular.

Yes, even with this directive and although her producer Kip vets the guests, every once and awhile someone out of their mind will slip through. So, when a man appears on the show and proclaims to have killed her mother, well Kip at first wants to shut him down, but Poe just can’t help herself and also for some reason he does look familiar to her so he lets him ramble.

But, she immediately shuts it down when she is shocked to discover that he knows way too much about the actual murder and things which were said that no one else knows but her.

But he is not finished with her and begins stalking her and demanding she have him on again. He begins to blackmail her. He seems to know her deepest, darkest secrets. And if she doesn’t put him back on, he will tell the world.

How could he know? Because the only person who would know is the maniac who killed her mother. And she knows exactly where that body is buried.

Tell Me What You Did is a masterclass on how to write a psychological thriller and also have the reader have no fingernails left! It’s more than a cat and mouse story, and much more than a twist and turn plot. It is a can’t put down, perfect beach read, stunningly macabre story. It’s too good to pass up, I promise!
