Nine names on a list. Sent to each of them. No one knows the others. Then they begin to be killed. Have I gotten your attention? I hope so! Nine Lives has a plot on the level of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, but on steroids. It’s premise, perfection, reading the story will give you not only anxiety, but will also convince you that you must finish the book to find out what is happening which will make you tear through the novel faster than any you have ever read. The ending? Magnificently amazing!
Nine people from all around the country receive a piece of mailed to them. On it are a list of names in which all of them are included. Nothing else. Some are curious while others think it must be some marketing scam and throw it away.
Until a name on the list is found dead, drowned at the seashore in a small Maine town with the list in his hand.
Then, a second name on the list ends up shot to death. One person on the list begins to take notice. Jessica Winslow, an FBI agent who is also on the list realizes something is happening and decides to try and investigate the names before she becomes another casualty.
Unfortunately, there seems to be no connection to these people. As the number of dead begin to rise, even with police protection, there seems to be more questions than answers. The nine seem to be heading to all dead.
Who has set this macabre massacre in motion? Why? No clues are ever left, and nobody left alive at the scenes. Whoever this is makes absolutely no mistakes.
As we follow the lives of the soon to be departed, a nurse, a professor, a businessman, a musician, a mistress an actor, a writer, we wait with horrible anticipation as to who will be next, how will it happen? You will think, why can’t I figure this out?
Nine Lives is just another Peter Swanson masterpiece. He gives absolutely nothing away until the very end with of course a few shocking twists which will blow you away! This book will keep you entertained not only while you are reading or until you finish it but will also make you obsessively think about the story even when you’re not!
